BROWNING.COM 36 X-BOLT 2 Common Features INFLEX RECOIL PAD The Inflex recoil pad features internal directional ribs that move the comb down and away from the cheek to increase shooting comfort. Standard models feature a 1-1/4" thick pad and Compact rifles have a 1" pad. TOP-TANG SAFETY The top-tang safety is easy to operate with the thumb. It blocks the trigger sear and features a firing pin block for added security. DLX TRIGGER The new DLX Trigger is a multiple-lever design that optimizes sear weight and trigger movement for an even more consistent and crisp break with zero creep, zero take-up, and zero overtravel performance. Pull weight is adjustable down to 3 lbs. (Factory pre-set at approximately 3-1/2 lbs.) X-LOCK SCOPE MOUNTING SYSTEM X-Lock mounts feature a four screws-per-base design that replaces the traditional two screw system to offer more accurate placement and more secure attachment to the receiver. FREE-FLOATING BARREL Every X-Bolt 2 action is bedded into the stock at the front and rear action screws and recoil lug for a true free-floating barrel. Barrels are button rifled and triple checked for interior finish, straightness, and air-gauged for uniformity. Every chamber is hand-reamed for precision accuracy and a recessed muzzle crown helps protect the rifling from damage. MUZZLE BRAKE Many X-Bolt 2 rifles feature a removable muzzle brake. The Recoil Hawg, Sporter Recoil Hawg, and Competition Recoil Hawg muzzle brakes are engineered to significantly reduce muzzle jump and felt recoil. The Recoil Hawg is designed to fit long-range profile barrels. The Sporter Recoil Hawg is tailored specifically for smaller diameter, sporter profile barrels. The Competition Recoil Hawg is designed to fit larger diameter target barrels and utilizes tunable top ports to customize muzzle rise mitigation. All models reduce felt recoil by as much as 76%, depending on the caliber. Radial-style muzzle brakes, included with some X-Bolt 2 rifles, also reduce felt recoil and can be easily upgraded to a Recoil Hawg by the consumer. A thread protector is included with most hunting model rifles. REDESIGNED BOLT AND RECEIVER The receiver has been redesigned with additional bolt guidance area for smoother bolt operation. Spiral fluting and a new ergonomic knob highlight the redesigned bolt. The bolt body is precision machined from solid steel and three locking lugs provide exceptional strength. Short 60˚bolt lift is fast cycling and allows the hand to clear scopes. MAGAZINE The rotary magazine is removable, durable, easy to load and feeds rounds from the center line for straight to the chamber feeding. Unique design holds U.S. patent numbers: 8,156,675; 8,484,875; and 8,745,912. Some rifles feature the new Plus Magazine System that uses an extended polymer magazine to increase capacity by two rounds, depending on caliber. RATE OF TWIST Select X-Bolt 2 Long Range models incorporate faster rates of twist to better stabilize longer, heavier bullets. 6.5 Creedmoor: 1-7", 28 Nosler: 1-8", 300 Win. Mag.: 1-8" BOLT UNLOCK BUTTON The bolt unlock button provides an extra margin of safety when checking and unloading the chamber.
